Abstract

Ibn Tufail took the symbolic narrative template to present his philosophical views and rational thoughts, so he wrote a symbolic story that he called “Hayy bin Yaqzan" in which it symbolizes the human being who works his mind and taste so that he can without external help, and by inspiration of his mind he reaches the upper world and stands on its secrets. “Hayy bin Yaqzan" is the human mind that seeks knowledge, the conscious and alert one who can reach the realization of the truth of nature and the sky to know himself and then reach the absolute truth. The story of Hayy bin Yaqzan was one of the unique philosophical messages in its kind; It is of particular importance at the level of studying the philosophy of Ibn Tufail or at the level of history of Islamic philosophy in the Maghreb and Andalusia. On the one hand, this thesis attracts the most important philosophical issues that our philosopher Ibn Tufail dealt with, whether in the natural world and its metaphysical aspect or in the religious aspect and its faith dimension, and on the other hand it can be said that this letter contained the story of Islamic philosophy with its multiple currents. The research consists of an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion: The first topic: the symbol, language and idiomatic, the second topic: Hayy bin Yaqzan and his symbolic approach, The third topic: Characteristics of the symbol in Sufism, The conclusion contains the most important results of the research.
