Abstract

When embarking on the trend towards the implementation of vital buildings, specifically buildings such as universities, and the trend towards making the building a smart building, we must shed great light on the relationship of the building or space that the university will occupy with all its elements with the surrounding buildings, spaces, and spaces. The building should be as sustainable as possible to help preserve the surrounding environment, reduce energy emissions, and shift towards a sustainable green environment.
The smart building reduces energy and water consumption; reduces waste and increases recycling; provides healthy living conditions and enhances environmental performance. Smart buildings are called "Digital Extensions" for all types of engineering and architectural activities. Smart buildings are called structure that facilitates automated processes to automatically control all types of building operations such as security, lighting, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, etc.
A green or sustainable building is a building that can, achieve a high level of efficiency: reduce the consumption of energy, water, and other resources and reduce pollution. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification is the internationally accepted official recognition that determines whether a building deserves to be considered sustainable. Automated green buildings represent a significant opportunity for energy efficiency and large-scale renewable energy generation, as well as automated demand response systems, while some demand is converted to less expensive and off-peak times, and these systems are the cornerstone of comprehensive energy efficiency programs as they provide detailed information on energy use that makes smart energy decisions better overall.
As universities are one of the institutions that are being developed using smart technology, it was also necessary to pay attention to the technology in universities in the process of preserving the environment and reaching the best degrees of correct use of energy.
