Abstract

The research seeks to analyze the treatment or handling of the “intellectual terrorism issue" within the Arabic-language media, as part of the events related to the phenomenon of terrorism it deals with. The problem of the study is defined in the question: “How does the Arabic-language satellite channel websites treats or handles the issue of terrorism and intellectual extremism within the events it deals with that occurred in Egypt, within frameworks that are not devoid of selection and exclusion of information and confirmation of others?", relying on the survey approach, both descriptive and analytical, for a number of terrorist events that occurred in Egypt.
The results of the research concluded that the focus of the Arabic-speaking study sites on intellectual terrorism and misunderstanding of doctrine indicates a degree of great attention paid by the international media to issues of extremist thought, and perhaps a reflection of the problems that the country to which he belongs suffers. The findings underscore the prevalence of humanitarian, political, and conflict frameworks in addressing terrorist events, potentially overshadowing more constructive approaches such as problem-solving and accountability. This tendency confines the understanding of terrorism within a narrow military-political paradigm, neglecting its broader intellectual dimensions. The study advocates for a continued scholarly examination of media coverage within the global media landscape. It also stresses the importance of educating professionals in international and regional conflict resolution and counterterrorism, enhancing their cultural competence, particularly within the Egyptian media. This comprehensive approach aims to equip journalists and media personnel with a deeper understanding of terrorism, encompassing intellectual, ideological, and cultural dimensions
