Abstract

Mitral stenosis (MS) is a common valvular 
disease in developing countries because it is a 
major consequence of rheumatic endocarditis. In 
approximately one fourth of patients with pure 
mitral stenosis there is a decrease in left ventricle 
systolic performance.
