Abstract

Population growth is considered one of the most important problems facing Egypt at the present time.
Population increase results from several factors, the most prominent of which is natural population growth that results from increased birth rates and reduced death rates. Population increase affects the economy significantly, as it increases pressure on natural resources and reduces agricultural land areas, and thus affects the ability of countries to meet the needs of It also leads to an increase in unemployment and deterioration in the standard of living in some areas. This research studies the role of economic and environmental legislation in limiting population growth in Egypt. Therefore, it addressed many of the economic and environmental aspects that affect population increase, which increases the consumption of natural resources in addition to increasing carbon emissions, which helps diseases and epidemics spread faster, and leads to Environmental deterioration and environmental pollution. Countries, including Egypt, are affected differently by population increase. Developing countries suffer from major economic and social problems due to the large population increase, such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of natural and food resources. For their part, industrialized countries face other challenges, such as environmental pollution and urban sprawl.
