This research was conducted at the Nursery of ornamental plants, Fac. Agric., Minia Univ. at the two growing seasons of 2022 and 2023 to determine the effect of salicylic acid (100 ppm) and active yeast (5 g/l) on volatile oil productivity and leaf pigments of marjoram plant under irrigation salinity (0.0, 500, 1000 and 2000 ppm NaCl). Data cleared that salinity at low concentrations increased essential oil percent and yield/plant/cut, and decreased significantly essential oil yield/plant/season in both seasons. Spraying salicylic acid or active yeast considerably augmented volatile oil percent, yield/plant/cut and /season. Salicylic acid was more effective than active yeast in this concern. It could be concluded that, spraying plants with salicylic acid at 100 ppm can mitigate the harmful impacts of salinity.
