In a comprehensive report published in 2010, the Organization for Economic Cooperation
and Development (OECD) shed light on the daunting task of combating corruption in Egypt.
The report, part of the Development Support and Business Climate Initiative crafted by the
organization in response to the global financial crisis of 2008, identified Egypt as a crucial
player in the Middle East and North Africa region.
