ملخص الدراسة:
هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على فاعلية برنامج تعليمي مستند إلى أسلوب اللعب في تطور المهارات المعرفية للأطفال المعاقين عقلياً القابلين للتعلم وفق متغير العمر(6ـــ 11) عاماً تم اختيار عينة الدراسة بطريقة قصدية من مراكز الوفاء لتأهيل الاطفال المعاقين التابعة لوزارة التنمية الاجتماعية في سلطنة عمان ، وتم اعتماد المنهج التجريبي. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (100) طالب وطالبة تم توزيعها بالتساوي بين العينة التجريبية والعينة الضابطة.واحتوت أداة الدراسة على:البرنامج التدريبي وتضمن (36) لعبة،والمقياس الذي احتوى على (36) فقرة لأبعاد(المطابقة،التذكر،الانتباه،التسلسل، التصنيف).وقد بينت نتائج البحث أنه لم يظهر أي تحسن في مستوى المجموعة الضابطة على مقياس المهارات المعرفية للأطفال المعاقين عقلياً تعزى لمتغير العمر الزمني للفئتين (6ــ8) و(9ــ11) عاماً نتيجة عدم تطبيق البرنامج التدريبي عليهم. لكن ظهر تحسن في مستوى المجموعة التجريبية على مقياس المهارات المعرفية للأطفال المعاقين عقلياً نتيجة تطبيق البرنامج التدريبي عليهم تعزى لمتغير العمر الزمني للفئة الأكثر عمراً(9ـ11)عاماً.وبناء على النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث أوصى البحث:
تدريب الأطفال المعاقين عقلياً كيفية شغل أوقات فراغهم بألعاب مثمرة وهادفة،وتوفير الأدوات والألعاب والوسائل التعليمية الهادفة لتنمية المهارات الحياتية اليومية للأطفال المعاقين عقلياً، وضرورة إشراك الأسرة في البرامج والخطط التعليمية والتأهيلية التي تقرر لأبنائهم.

Abstract:
The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of an educational program based on playing style in the development of cognitive skills for Mentally handicapped children who are able to learn according to the age variable (6-11) years. The study sample was deliberately chosen from the Al-Wafa Centers for Rehabilitation of Disabled Children affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development in the Sultanate of Oman, and the experimental approach was adopted.
The study sample consisted of (100) male and female students distributed equally between the experimental sample and the control sample. The study tool included: the training program and included (36) games, and the scale that contained (36) paragraphs for dimensions (matching, remembering, attention, sequence and classification ).The results of the research showed that there was no improvement in the level of the control group on the scale of cognitive skills for mentally handicapped children due to the variable of chronological age for groups (6-8) and (9-11) as a result of not applying the training program to them. However, there was an improvement in the level of the experimental group on the scale of cognitive skills for mentally handicapped children as a result of applying the training program to them due to the variable of chronological age for the most age group (9-11) years. Based on the findings of the research, the research recommended:
Training of mentally handicapped children how to occupy their spare time with fruitful and meaningful games, providing tools, games and educational aids aimed at developing the daily life skills of mentally handicapped children, and the necessity of involving the family in the educational and rehabilitation programs and plans that are decided for their children.
