Abstract

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is one of the major causes of liver disease and a potential cause of substantial 
morbidity and mortality worldwide. HCV genotype 4 is responsible for more than 90% of chronic 
HCV infection in Egypt. Aim: estimation of the response rate and detection of the effect of treatment 
of CHC patients on degree of fibrosis. Patients and method: 90 patients included, 30 receving 
interferon containing regimen and 60 receiving interferon free. Conclusion: DAAS make a revolution 
in HCV treatment.
