Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the prevalence of the Hoarding disorder, as well as the identification of the
Hoarding disorder, and identify differences by sex, age and monthly income, identify cognitive distortions, identify cognitive
distortions according to the same demographic variables, and define the correlation between Hoarding disorder and cognitive
distortions, Contribution of cognitive distortions in the making of Hoarding disorder, and to achieve the research objectives
The researchers adopted the first measures to measure the Hoarding disorder (Steketee: 2004) and consists of (22)
paragraphs, and the measure of cognitive distortions (Beck: 1995), which consists of (32) paragraphs, and after the
psychometric characteristics of both measurements were achieved, the researcher applied the measure of the Hoarding
disorder to a random sample of (1000) employees and employees from fourteen ministries in Babil governorate to measure
the prevalence of the disorder and then the two measures on the random random sample of (400) employees In the province
of Babylon. The results of the research emerged in the light of the theoretical framework adopted, and included a number of
conclusions, including that the Hoarding disorder is spread in the research community by 20.7%, and there are no statistically
significant differences in the Hoarding disorder among the research sample according to the demographic variables. The
effect of the difference between the sex and age variables, and there is no interaction between the other variables, and the
lack of the prevalence of employees in the state departments cognitive distortions, the absence of differences in cognitive
distortions according to demographic variables, and the existence of a positive positive correlation between the disorder and
cognitive distortions, They are three areas of cognitive distortions in predicting an increase in the employee's disability.
Based on these findings, the researchers developed a set of recommendations and suggestions.
