Toukh is one of the important cities in Qalyubia Governorate,
located about 35 km north of Cairo, on the Cairo-Alexandria
agricultural road, in the distance between the cities of Qaha and
Banha. It is one of the ancient countries that Ibn Mamati
mentioned in Qawaneen El Dawaween as Tukh Majul. In the era
of Muhammad Ali Pasha, it was known as Tukh Al-Malaq in the
villages of the Qalyubia District. And it became the headquarters
of the Toukh Department since 1826 AH, and in the year 1871
AH it was named Toukh Center until now, and despite the large
extension of the villages of the Toukh district, which includes
many important villages with large population densities such as
the villages of Mit Kenana, Namol, Al-Deir, Ajhor, Al-Amar,
and Biltan, which contained many ancient mosques, but the
reconstruction, and renewal dealt with these mosques, and they
were recently demolished and rebuilt, perhaps due to the absence of archaeological awareness of the
importance of preserving such buildings, and the lack of interest
on the part of officials to register them, which prompts the people
to demolish and rebuild them in order to seek the reward of God
Almighty. Despite that, the field research in the villages of the
center resulted in the presence of three mosques, the first in the
village of Mashtoher, which is the Waqf or Endowment Mosque,
dated before 1179 AH / 1766 AD, the second in the city of
Toukh, which is the Omari Mosque, which is dated 1318 AH /
1901 AD, and the third in the village of Arab Al-Ghadiri, which
is the mosque of Sayyida Ashq Duran, which is dated In the year
1329 AH / 1911 AD, the three mosques agreed on the general
planning, following one general model, and differed in some
details that were unique to each of the three mosques from the
other, which will be clarified by the study. A full detailed
explanation of description, drawing, photography, comparisons
and architectural roots, which highlights the importance of these
mosques, Attracting attention to the importance of registering the
unregistered ones among our Islamic monuments that must be
preserved.
