The virtual education strategy and the extent of its use in teaching the design and
decoration course under the situation of Corona virus. The developments that the
world is going through now from the outbreak of the new Corona virus. It led to a halt
and paralysis in all aspects of life in various fields. Education was not immuned to
this, as all educational levels have been affected by this outbreak, e-learning has
become a safe and effective resort at the present time. The study sheds light on the
education sector in general and public education in particular, which is one of the first
sectors affected by the health pandemic. This has led educational institutions to
provide distance learning platforms for the student in order to follow the educational
process.
This research discusses the strategy of virtual education and the extent of its use in
teaching design and decoration courses to find appropriate methods for teaching them. The qualitative and quantitative approach will be used to develop and modify the
course program to match with distance teaching. As it teaches art that depends largely
on mixing, especially practical materials such as design and decoration, therefore
distance education poses a great challenge in providing these materials. As the student
practices innovative and creative thinking in order to reach new and distinctive design
ideas, teaching design and decoration is a process that maybe described as complex, as
it requires the student's personal interest and depends and varies widely from one
student to another. Student performance in the various design stages depends largely
on previous experiences, skills, and the number of core subjects in the curriculum that
the student has passed. In this study we present a proposed conception of how to apply
distance education strategies through virtual classes to learn design and decoration
under the umbrella of contemporary technologies and media with the lights of
application results. In addition, a questionnaire for student will be given to measure
the percentage of general satisfaction and analyze the student response to the
methodology that was used to present the scientific material to the course from a
distance learning. Furthermore, measuring the general level of performance in order to
reach the best suggestion and modification of the methodology for teaching design
and decoration courses from a distance. Therefore, the research problem can be
summed up in the following question: How effective is virtual education in distance
education in teaching the design and decoration course? Hence, the research aims to
study the strategy of virtual education and the extent of its use in the distance learning
process in the College of Basic Education in particular.
