15 stunted chickens (8 weeks old) were chosen out of 70 which were fed for 7 weeks on dry mash containing suboptimal level of protein (14% on dry matter basis). The stunted chickens were divided into 3 groups and fed on ration containing about 17.5, 19.0 & 21.5% crude protein respectively.
They were examined for their rate of growth, dressing percen tages, diferential leucocytic count, and the serum protein fractions.
The third group showed the more heavier carcase yield. There was a marked decrease in neutrophils accumpanied by lymphocyto sis and monocytosis as the protein content of the ration increased. The body weight development and serum protein fractions showed no significant differences
