Abstract

Sesamoiditis and fractures of the proximal sesamoid bone were reported in 9 donkeys. These conditions were observed in 4 left forelimbs, 3 right forelimbs, one in both forelimbs and only one case in the left hindlimb. The clinical signs and characteristic radiographic changes accom panying sesamoiditis and some types of proximal sesamoid fractures were described.
