Abstract

The effect of virulent infectious bursal disease bebub (IBD) virus on broiler chick groups fed at one week TV 052 of age diets containing different concentration of oris to Alascorbic acid (AA). (group I, 0 mg AA/kg, group II, - Isno case 220mg AA kg; group III, 330 mg AA/kg and group IV,) Is BIS 660 mg AA/kg diet, resp < /strong>ectively) was studied. At 251
four weeks of age, broiler chicks in different to 2 group < strong>s
were no infected intraocularly with
AA 10 EID50/0.1 ml virulent IBD virus. The severityisaini IEBC of clinical manifestations, bursal lesions and ten Isny other IBD pathological lesions were reduced in A sd Tom Mit diet supp < /strong>lemented group chicks (group II, III IV). foet A su Morbidity and mortality rates were less in AA AA El receiving group chicks in comparison with group s
sin chicks supp < /strong>lemented no AA. Positive ground bursae godue bra in agar gel precip < /strong>itation test from infected IBD---os
group chicks were high (66.67%) in chicks receiving TXAHI teom no AA(group I), while low (40.00, 28.33 and 45.00%) 2018 in other AA supp < /strong>lemented diet group chicks (group 009 10 II, III, IV) resp < /strong>ectively. The effect of AA on gubat
di IBD-infection was dose dependent. The best resultseite beet were obtained at the level of 330 mg AA/kg diet vbude ritiw (group III). It was concluded that AA increase the lyaua
resistance in broiler chicks against virulent
IBD-infection
