110 lymph nodes were collected and processed from some abattoirs of Assiut Governorate. The specimens included 152 lymph nodes from slaughtered cows, yuffaloes and camels showing tuberculous-like lesions and 58 lymph nodes from uberculin positive cows and buffaloes without visible lesions of tuberculosis. The amples were bacteriologically examined for the presence of mycobacteria. The ncidence of M.bovis in cow carcasses was 13.25% while the organism was not ecovered from any of the specimens of buffaloes and camels. On the other hand, the ncidence of atypical mycobacteria in cows, buffaloes and camels were 10%, 36.67% ind 1.43% respectively. Bacteriological studies constituted isolation of 46 typical and itypical mycobacterial strains in pure culture, identification of isolates by their olonial, morphological and biochemical characteristics, and typing of suspected sovine strains by pathogenicity test in the rabbit. isolates revealed 13 isolates of M.bovis and M.intracellulare, 9 M.scrofulacem, M.vaccae, 2 M. Kansasii and one isolate of M. smegmatis
