Maize crop is considered one of the important strategic crops due to its multiple uses and the increasing demand for it in the global market due to the lack of supply, especially in light of the current global crisis and the increasing price increases. It is used as fodder for livestock (as a silage). However, the cultivated areas and production are not sufficient to meet the growing demand for maize in light of the population increase, and there are also problems fa cing the production and marketing of maize in Egypt. The governorate of Al-Buhaira was chosen as the subject of the study, as it came in third place at the level of the Republic, and it is also the scope of the researcher's work, so the focus was on it to highlight its importance. The study relied on preliminary data of a multi-stage random sample compiled through a personal interview, by studying the relative importance of cost items and productive and economic indicators per feddan of maize crop in the research sample in Beheira Governorate in the summer season 2022. The items are variable costs without rent, which amount to about 10970 pounds, representing about 67.01 % of the total items of total costs, while the costs of renting the crop were estimated at about 5400 pounds, representing about 32.99% of the total costs. It was found from the productive indicators that the average main product of maize amounted to about 25 ardebs, while the average price of an ardab in the sample was about 1100 pounds, and the marginal surplus was about 12.820 thousand pounds. 654.8 pounds, while productivity at the break-even point was about 14.9 ardibs.
