Abstract
The Asam Church of St.Nepomuk in Munich is considered one of the most special private churches that was built in Germany in the eighteenth century by the Asam Brothers. The house of Egid Asam overlooks the High Alter of the church that its ceiling was designed and painted by his brother Cosmas Asam that studied previously in the Academy of San Luca in Rome in 1735 for two years. Cosmas Asam excelled in the execution and the design of the ceiling that depicts the life of Saint Nepomuk in thirteen scenes in a form of series in one framework. Saint Nepomuk was drowned in the river by an order from the king of Bohemia Wenceslas in the fourteenth century because he refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional of the king's wife Sophie. The church is considered a perfect example for the late baroque/Rococo Art in Germany and it shows the influence of the Italian Baroque art on them and their role in spreading it to Germany.
