Abstract

Aim:This review article will help clinicians to provide more information about surface treatments of indirect composite, self-adhesive cements and their bonding mechanism, and microtensile bond strength of self-adhesive and indirect composite complex. Methods:The types of surface treatments of indirect composite are reviewed. Additionally, the classifications and adhesion mechanism of resin cements are discussed, also aging method for bond durability are reviewed. Conclusion:The overall goal of this paper is for help to predict their ultimate performance of self-adhesive resin cements and their clinical performance to date and handling characteristics. Also to explain the effect of surface treatments of indirect composite restorations. Keywords: Surface treatments, indirect composite, self- adhesive resin cements.
