Submandibular gland (SMG) presents a great model due to extensive postnatal development and is known to be regulated and affected by hormones and growth factor. In this study low dose of Biochanin a (BCA) and 17beta estradiol (E2) application was observed. The pups were randomly divided into four groups; control, BCA, E2, Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and euthanized at the 15th postnatal days (PND). The SMG morphogenesis was altered with the compounds of concern. The results presented by this study give supplementary data to argue that the effect of a perinatal exposure to Biochanin a on the SSG developmental programming could be linked to sex hormone–dependent disorders.
