Objective:To evaluate the efficiency of modified smart wire appliance as a device in treatment of pseudo class III cases. Materials and Methods:The sample was consisted of 15 patient (seven males and eight females, mean age 8 years,6 months ± 4 months). The patients were treated with modified smart wire appliance for 2-4 months. For all patients the measurement were performed using casts and lateral cephalometric radiographs taken before and after using the appliance. The collected data were analyzed statically using t-test. Results:There was a significant increase in SNA, SNB, maxillary length, wits and lower anterior facial height. There was a significant proclination of the maxillary incisors(U1/SN +6.33^o, U1/FH +6.27^o) and retroclination of mandibular incisors(L1/MP -4.66^o). Conclusions:Modified smart wire appliance is easy to construct,patient friendly and very effective appliance in the treatment of pseudo class III malocclusion in growing patients.
