Comparative evaluation of antimicrobial efficacy of different new monoblockobtutation systems

Abstract

Objectives:This study was designed to evaluate the antibacterial effect of new monoblockobturation systems (RealSeal SE, ActiV GP, and EndoREZ) on the most common endodontic microbiota.
Materials and Methods:Agar-well diffusion method (AWDM) with cultures of E.faecalis, S. mutans, E. coli and C. albican were used to test the antimicrobial effect of the tested materials.
Results:ANOVA test for antimicrobial effect revealed that ActiV GP showed the most significantly effective material against all micro-organisms used in this study, and EndoREZ exhibited the lowest antimicrobial effect.
Conclusions:ActiV GP is the most effective monoblock antibacterial material.
