Abstract

The increasing need to conserve energy and materials, as well as growing anxieties about the material effect on the environmental economy has led to the requirements for redesigning significant structural members and systems. The evolvement of sustainable housing construction methodologies is beneficial to the country's economic and long-term sustainability. When compared to other non-load-bearing construction members, flooring systems are second highest in terms of the effect after partition walls. This study aims life cycle cost analysis for advantages of conventional and sustainable slabs (flat slab, ICF slab, Joist slab, bubble slab, and Hollow slab) in Iraq. The methodology of this study included comprises the environmental and economic life cycle analysis (LCCA) depended on questionnaires that and cost analysis data for each slab depended on current documented prices. The data from the questionnaires were analyzed descriptive tools such as frequencies, percentages, and mean values by using SPSS. The results showed that from the questionaries' approach Bubble deck slab represents the best alternative from comprising five alternatives and depending on the analysis of the life cycle cost the best result showed ICF slab represents the best alternative. Therefore, ICF and bubble slabs are suitable as an alternative Eco-economic building in the application of structural elements for the construction industry today.
