ترجع أهمية المشارکة السياسية للمرأة بأنها تکشف عن الإمکانات المدخرة في المجتمع, بإعتبار أن المرأة هى نصف المجتمع, والإهتمام بمشارکتها يضاعف من حجم القدرات لدى المجتمع, ويدفع بمعدلات نموه إلى مستويات أعلى, وتساعد مشارکتها على منحها حصانة ثقافية وفکرية, وتوسيع قاعدة التمثيل في الهيئات البرلمانية الأمر الذى يزيد من قوة وعمق تمثيلها في المجتمع.
ونجاح المرأة المصرية في العمل التطوعى جعلها واثقة بقدراتها على خوض غمار الحياة السياسية, ومشارکتها في الحقوق السياسية مسألة عادلة لأن المبدأ الديمقراطى يقتضى منح کل شخص جزء من السلطة السياسية التى تسمح له بأن يحافظ على شخصيته ويحميها .
