Abstract

abstract:
Political fiction is that kind of narration that is mainly built upon political events or theories to provide an explanation or a commentary on political issues. It can be based on current, or past events, and also provide political theories about future. This can be achieved through specific structure, metaphoric language, plot formation, and stylistic techniques. Along history, most of the American political literature has depended on the conspiracy theory to interpret or justify the political conflicts, both in the world of politics and the fictional novel. This paper examines the conspiracy theory as represented in the selected political novels of Don DeLillo, James Patterson, and L.T. Ryan. It explains how politics reshape the American fiction concerning the political plot, the development of the politicians in the political climate of the selected novels. The paper sheds light on paranoid style that dominates the main elements of the narration and affects the main features of the novels.
