Bellow is a great novelist who wins the National Book Award three times. This research aims at examining and analyzing Bellow's Henderson the Rain King in order to point out the intended meaning of the author from a pragmatic perspective that helps in making Bellow's style effective throughout the use of speech acts. Speech acts are actions which are performed by utterances as promise, offer, request, compliment, and warn. These acts specify the communicative intentions of speakers in producing an utterance. It is very significant to understand the context in which such utterances occur. The use of speech acts helps the author to highlight the intended messages where he desires better communication with her readers, wishing them to find deep meanings in his work.

يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل رواية "هندرسون ملک المطر" للکاتب الأمريکي سول بيلو من منظور براجماتي لتوضيح المعنى الضمني الذي تشتمل عليه الرواية من خلال استخدام الأحداث الکلامية. يتضمن هذا البحث مناقشة الجانب النظري للأحداث الکلاميه ,کما يتضمن التطبيق على بعض الأمثله من الرواية و ذلک لتوضيح المعنى الضمني فيها ,وتأکيد أهمية استخدام الأحداث الکلاميه في التحليل حيث أنها تؤدي إلى فهم أفضل للمعنى الضمني، و کذلک تؤکد على مهارة بيلو في استخدام الأحداث الکالمية التي من خلالها يسعى إلى تأکيد فکرته بضرورة مشارکة القارئ في الرواية کي يستطيع فهم المعنــى الضمنــي.
