أن قناة السويس الجديدة هي في قلب رؤية قومية شاملة لإقامة أضخم منطقة صناعية وتنموية متطورة على طول خط القناة تعرف بمشروع تنمية محور قناة السويس ويمثل جانبًا مهمًا من جوانب التنمية المستقبلية المستدامة في مصر کما أن من المعلوم أن الأبعاد التنموية والاقتصادية للقناة الجديدة لن تقتصر فقط على مجرد اختصار ساعات مرور السفن، لتصبح أسرع قناة في العالم، أو مرور السفن في الاتجاهين دون انتظار، بل إن هناک نتائج مهمة ذات صلة بتنمية محور قناة السويس.
کما يهدف المشروع إلى تحقيق تنمية اقتصادية مستدامة مصحوبة بخلق مجتمعات عمرانية جديدة في شرق بورسعيد والسخنة وخليج السويس بالإضافة إلى تعزيز تواصل سيناء مع الوطن الأم وتسهيل حرکة العبور بين سيناء وبقية محافظات مصر عبر الأنفاق التي تم حفرها أسفل القناة مؤخرًا ومن ثم تعزيز وتثبيت أرکان ودعائم الأمن القومي المصري.
