Abstract

Although, the construction industry is considered a service industry but it represent the biggest share of the total funds invested yearly in the industrial sector. As construction projects varies in its value and size, so its quality achievement has a great impact on economy. To ensure this impact we need to reduce production costs through cancelling correction defects and faults costs, cancelling rexcutional costs, achieving customer satisfaction, and reducing maintenance costs. This lead to a new methodology that is called “six sigma" this methodology helped in increasing the economic life of buildings, increasing company trusty and share in the continuity and competence of the company in the market. This methodology includes a number of advanced statistical tools used in an integrated way to improve the product quality level through a well skilled team. The importance of six sigma increased specially at the finishing works level because it is related to the client satisfaction. Many construction projects leaks outcomes especially in this level because of its low quality, which makes it significant for researcher to search for applying this new methodology to improve construction works according to international specifications and standards. This can be achieved through ensuring the quality of outcomes and simplicity of implementation process to allow the construction companies to keep up with the international market.
