Abstract

The building's facades representing the outer covers that surrounding the architectural lumps and representing the shape and the core of the architecture inside the modern boundaries containing it, the person lives in the architectural environment adding to it things of his personality, habits, and beliefs, and also adding some of his cultural directions he put his prints on the architecture specially the residential, so it reflects its facades through its terms, aspects of forming it and its concepts at an accumulated cultural heritage overages by creative solutions and original values and also these facades put some explanations for the local architectural techniques for the cities which represents a visible record for the conversation between the culture of the society and the architectural environment and distinguish the city from others even if it is mixing with its local architecture other techniques and other architectural arts, upon that we find that the traditional residential buildings' facades shows the most important significances for that heritage and the architectural techniques through its concepts and prevailing forming aspects in the architecture of the city so it is forming by that an important part from the architectural heritage which it should reserve it as it is the reference and the judging border which guarantee the visual constants and the formed ones at the city, from here coming the necessity of keeping the traditional residential architectural aspects starting from designing the facades and by achieving the connection between the heritage and contemporary through the accelerated and fighting changes in all fields of life and its techniques now and in the future.
This research works on analyzing the contemporary residential facades of the ancient city of Aden (South Yemen) through the cultural heritage scope and that by having the following points gradually:
1. The Introduction (subject, the aim, the curriculum, the study).
2. Reasons of choosing the study region (Aden - Crater).
3. Aspects of the Ancient Aden (Crater) the study region.
4. The Traditional Aden Architecture (factors affecting it) .
5. The diagnostic significance of the traditional residential buildings' facades at the Ancient Aden.
6. Diagnosing some contemporary residential facades at the Ancient Aden.
7. Results and recommendations.
