A simple network analysis to study the transient thermal performance of a flat plate heat pipe is developed in this study. The transient behavior of the flat plate heat pipe is described by simple, first order, linear ordinary differential equations that can be solved easily using matrix inverse method. A comparison of the results obtained using this simplified model with some existing experimental results available in the literature is conducted. It is found that the network model can be successfully used to simulate the transient behavior of flat plate heat pipes.
