Using Active Learning in Developing Some Skills of Analyzing
Literary text for Female Students at Azhary Secondary School
The study aimed at developing some skills of analyzing
literary text for 1st grade female students at Azhary secondary school
by using a proposed strategy based on active learning. To achieve
that, the researchers used descriptive and semi-experimental methods
and they designed some tools and educational materials which were
as follows:
1: A list for skills of analyzing literary text.
2: A test for skills of analyzing literary text.
3: A Proposed strategy Based on Active Learning.
The suitable statistical treatments were used to standardize
those tools regarding validity and reliability before using them. The
study was conducted using a sample of 60 female students in 1st
grade at Azhary secondary school in 2017-2018 academic year at
Keleen Secondary Institute and they were divided into an

experimental group (30 female students) and a control group (30
female students). The performance of study took 6 weeks and to
analyze study data, the researchers used T-test for independent
samples and T-test for connected samples.
The study revealed the existence of eleven skills which were
suitable for students (sample) and necessary for them; so that three
skills related to words, three skills related to ideas, two skills related
to style, two skills related to emotion, and one skill related to values.
Furthermore, the results proved the effectiveness of active
learning in developing some skills of analyzing literary text for
female students at Azhary secondary stage. According to those
results, the study submitted some recommendations and suggested
some researches relating to its subject.
