The Arab press represents an historical document of Arabic language and the paths of its development in modern times. It has been one of the main factors in the revival and dissemination of 'Al-arabiyya Al-fusha' or 'Modern Standard Arabic', as well as the development of its vocabulary and styles of expression. The current study attempts to present a different method to investigate and analyze language uses in the Arab press based on the exploitation of computerized analysis of language corpora. In order to achieve this, the study uses the 'corpus of Arabic newspapers for the year of 2012' and the corpusprocessing tool 'Ghwwas'. Based on data extracted from the corpus, the study presents different analyses of the most frequent words and N-grams in the press, keywords of the different domains and topics in the press, as well as particular analysis of some specific words, forms, and expressions emerging in modern Arabic. Based on the examples presented, the study concluded that computerized analysis of corpora could provide important results in the analysis of a number of phenomena related to modern Arabic in all aspects of lexical, syntactic, stylistic considerations and others. The study also clarifiessome ways for utilizing these results in applied domains such as compiling dictionaries and preparing educational curricula, and so forth
