Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the influence of water and nutrients reuse in closed soilless culture system and to obtain the best reused rate for nutrients after treatment and fertigation management in these systems. The nutrients and growth rates were measured after different treatments of irrigation times and quantity of water irrigation, in addition to heating root zone in cucumber soilless culture system. The results indicated that the closed soilless culture system with intermittent irrigation and heating the root zone (T1) was the best compared  with other all treatments, which names; closed soilless culture system with intermittent irrigation (T2), closed soilless culture system with irrigation once and heating the root zone (T3), and closed soilless culture system with irrigation once (T4) in terms of uptake nutrients (Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg).  Additionally, the best absorption of water was occurred in the treatment of the closed soilless culture system with intermittent irrigation and heating the root zone, whereas the best growth parameters which included internode length, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, and yield was the treatment of the closed soilless culture system with intermittent irrigation and heating the root zone, while treatment T2 was better in plant height than the rest of the treatments.
