تناول البحث مشروع المملكة العربية المتحدة الذي طرحه الملك حسين ابن طلال ملك الأردن في 14 مارس 1972 وموقف حركة فتح تجاهه، بالاستناد إلى مصادر حركة فتح. وقد هدف البحث لبيان المشروع وملابساته، وموقف فتح منه. وقد استند البحث إلى مصادر حركة فتح بشكل رئيس، ومن أهمها: نشرة فتح اليومية التي غطت شهر فبراير ومارس وإبريل من عام 1972، وعبَّرت بشكل واضح عن رؤية فتح تجاه المشروع. وقد اتبع البحث منهج البحث التاريخي، وجاء في محورين، تناول الأول المشروع وملابساته، وتناول الثاني موقف فتح منه. استعرض المحور الأول مضمون مشروع المملكة العربية المتحدة، وخلفيته، والموقف الإسرائيلي والسلوك الأردني والموقف الأمريكي منه، وخلفية العلاقة بين فتح والنظام الأردني. واستعرض المحور الثاني موقف حركة فتح، فتناول الإطار النظري: البيانات والندوات، وتناول الإطار العملي: العمل الدبلوماسي، والمظاهرات، والتهديد، وطرح البدائل، والعمل العسكري. وتوصل البحث إلى أسباب طرح المشروع وأسباب رفضه. Abstract The research addressed The United Arabia Kingdom (UAK) project put forward by King Hussein bin Talal of Jordan on March 14, 1972, and The Fatah movement's position towards it, based on Fatah sources.  The research aimed to explain the project and its circumstances, and Fatah's position on it.  The research is based mainly on the sources of the Fatah movement, the most important of which are: Fatah's daily bulletin that covered the months of February, March and April, of 1972 and clearly expressed its vision towards the project.  The research followed the historical research method, and came in two sections: The First addressed the project and its circumstances. The second addressed Fatah's position. The first section reviewed the content of the UAK project, its background, the Israeli position, the Jordanian behavior and the American position, and the background of the relationship between Fatah and the Jordanian regime. The second section reviewed the position of the Fatah movement, dealing with the theoretical framework: statements and seminars. While practical framework: diplomatic work, demonstrations, threats, proposing alternatives, and military action.  The research found the reasons for the proposal and its rejection.
