MICROBIOLOGICAL DETECTION OF FLORFENICOL AND CIPROFLOXACIN RESIDUES IN CLARIES LAZERA FISH

Abstract

Our study was carried out to determine the residues of florfenicol, and ciprofloxacine in serum and different organs (liver , kidney and muscle) of fish by microbilological assay method using Bacillus subtilis , (ATCC 6633) . It was found that the initial serum concentration of florfenicol was 0.24±0.01µg/ml in treated fish which was achieved at 5 minutes post dosing and the maximum concentration was achieved at 12 hours post medication which then declined gradually and disappeared at 72 hours post medication. Also it was found that liver has the highest concentration (3.02 ±0.08) followed by kidney (1.47±0.009) the lastly muscle (1.56±0.06) (µg/gm). While the maximum concentration of ciprofloxacin in serum was (4.43±0.02 µg/ml) at 4 hours in treated fish then gradually declined to disappear at 24 hours. Also we found that kidney has the higher concentration(3.68±0.09) followed by liver(2.64±0.08) and finally muscle(0.72±0.11)µg gm in treated fish. So from this study we can concluded that rabidly absorbed and rabidly eliminated from fish tissue when compared with florfenicol.
