The cooperative movement plays a large role in economic, social and political terms. It is a tool for directing individual ownership to serve developing the plans of the country. Cooperative societies are one of the developmental institutions that contribute to the economic and social development of individuals and society. As it works to provide employment opportunities for citizens and contribute to addressing the problem of unemployment and poverty reduction through the formation of capital for individuals with limited potential, and employ them to make a positive change in society. The problem of this research is to clarify the role of productive cooperatives for furniture for the industrial society in Damietta Governorate, particularly in light of the recession and the successive economic crises witnessed in the governorate. Is the productive cooperative of furniture in Damietta governorate a role in serving artisans and small industrialists and helping them solve the problems facing them? , Do these associations play a role in the development of the furniture industry? What are the services provided by these associations to their members? Do these associations provide production inputs at reduced prices? What is the size of these associations' efforts to market the products of their members? Is there a successful model for productive cooperatives for furniture in Damietta governorate to be followed? The aim of this research is to monitor the reality of the productive cooperatives of furniture in Damietta governorate and to identify the most important obstacles that limit the performance of its developmental role. The importance of this research is to shed light on the cooperative issue to deepen the awareness of its dimensions, deepen the cooperative values and call for cooperation, cohesion and consolidation of the cooperative spirit among the members of the society, as well as emphasizing the importance of cooperative societies and their role in reducing the crisis in the furniture industry in Damietta. The research has followed the descriptive and analytical descriptive method with the conduct of personal interviews and the questionnaire studies with the relevant parties. The developmental role of the productive cooperatives of furniture in Damietta governorate has been found to be ineffective and there are many obstacles to the effective implementation of these activities.
