Abstract

Allah has created several natural materials for us , these marerials are suitable for our Egyptian environment. For examples, we have materials from soil ,from water ,from plants and from animals. We should think how to use such materials in the best way as our old pharoes had done before. The old artist was the first one to use these enviromental materials to draw on the walls and in sculpture. Then he began to use them also in building and painting a lot of beautiful art costructions . In spite of the present advanced tecnologies all over the world ,we should return to sush real Egyptian environmental materials that have lots of special geographical features . We should also look for new methods to decrease the costs and get the most possible benifits of sush special material. Ceramic has a great economic value in addition to its beauty. It can be easily found all around us in our local environment. It is also one of the best materials that are used in coating constructions. It is solid and has no pores,so it is strong enough in front of rains and humidity without being spoiled or destroyed. It also can live long times without having it's attractive colours or its forms changed , So ceramic is one of the best materials that can be appropriate to join all the sides of art , beauty ,function and economics of one construction all together. It also join the construction to the environment around it. As the world all around us now is tendind to return to the enviromental and natural materials, espcially in the field of art, and as there is an interest to practise morphology in all of the art and construction fields, alot of new expressions are used, like : enviromental art, ground art, biological art, green architecture and sustainable art. So I decided to choose ceramic as a material that can be used in the modern architecture as it helps the designer to create and show easily all what he wants to because of its colours, appearance and texture.
