Abstract

The research aims to address an experimental study to know the effect of treating "gauze" fabrics with ketosan loaded with nanometric silver particles and arrive at the most appropriate treatment concentrations with both ketosan and nanometer silver particles, and also the best arrangement of treatment to improve the functional properties of these fabrics, where two types of gauze fabrics (light - thick). The fabrics produced were treated at different concentrations of ketosan (2.5-5-5%) and silver nanoparticles (nano-silver) at a concentration of 100 parts per million (ppm) / liter, then roasting to the oven at different times (3,2,1) minutes, temperature 120 ° C. With conducting and evaluating some laboratory tests on treated and untreated gauze fabrics (weight per square meter, water absorption, bacterial growth, electronic scanner). The results showed that the treatment of thick gauze fabrics with ketosan first and then with nanometric silver particles at the time of roasting 2 minutes, concentration (7.5 ketosan / 200 mL nano-silver / liter) is the best samples produced for all different performance properties with an ideal area of 334.40, while the least samples produced under research Before treatment (raw) is a light gauze. Where the results showed a noticeable and clear improvement in most measured properties, especially bacterial inhibition, while the lowest samples were the raw sample of light gauze fabrics before treatment, with an ideal area of 122.31
