Abstract

The research explores the origami art (Japanese traditional art of paper folding) and the ability to use it in designing textile printing by employing the techniques and tools necessary to implement printed textile pendants. The research focuses on using art such as sculpted three-dimensional origami to emphasize the idea of other two-dimensional art such as the art of textile print design. Origami art depends on forming one primary piece to form a final model without using a sticker and without making any pieces to obtain a final shape for a bird, or for an animal, .... Thus we obtain the final origami form through the same methodology for the forms of origami folds according to specific steps Known in the references related to origami art. In this art, the material used to form the artwork is chosen according to its flexibility and its ability to fold with some auxiliary materials that help shape the artwork so that the folds are fixed, such as the folds of paper. As for the suggested shapes, they are one of the simplest and most suitable shapes for printed textile pendants such as bird, fish and pyramid. The researcher benefited from the origami art folds in creating a diverse group of folds using batik-dyed fabric material with designs inspired by ancient Egyptian art, then she analyzed the textile pendants to extract artistic and artistic values. Where various textile origami suspensions were produced using pre-dyed fabrics using wax batik and prepared to correspond to the methods of folding the woven in an origami art style. Thus, the researcher has benefited from the folds resulting from the origami style as a three-dimensional art, with its aesthetic relations that can be used to impart formative technical values, which can represent a new source of inspiration in the design of the printed textile suspension, which is characterized by a continuous change in the artistic elements and in which values can be achieved Aesthetic in it through the relationship between origami folds and silhouettes, as well as architectural artistic values in the production of printed fabric suspensions.
