On Line Algorithm for Line Overload Alleviation.

Abstract

This paper presents an algorithm to be used in an energy control center to alleviate transmission lines overloads, either by line switching or busbar splitting. 
The method is applied to the 220 kv network of northern Egypt power system. The results achived proves the efficiency of such algorithm. Moreover, a comparison is carried out between the proposed algorithm in this paper and the generation shift approach.
