Abstract

In this work two attempts are made to simplify the application method of Weibull's distribution and to check the fitting of this distribution to a set of experimental results obtained from the fatigue tests of cotton/polyester blended yarns. Fatigue phenomena of these yarns, which were exposed to repeated extension, repeated bending and abrasion was found to conform well the Weibull distribution. The probability of survival of yarns, after a certain number of cyclic stresses, was calculated experimentall and theoretically and consequently the fatigue lifetime (number of Cycles to rupture of yarns could be evaluated easily. The plotted result: showed that the
