Abstract

The aim of this work is to study the effect of the following parameters: weft fineness (count) and weft density on the warp tension. A wide range of weft densities, 4 levels. From 25 to 52 picks/inch for weft count 24 tex and 42 tex were used. The warp tension was measured at three positions across the weaving machine, and the amplitude st beat-up and open-shed was recorded and evaluated for all experiments (1x4x3 experimental trial).
Variance analysis technique was used to find the main and interaction effects of the parameters on warp tension. The main effects (A,B and C) and the interaction effects (AB , AC, BC and ABC) give highly significant values of Fexp < /sub> compared with Ftab at 5=95% and 99%.
