Abstract

This research was carried out to elucidate the status of concrete bricks industry in Dakahelia Governorate. Methods of manufacture of concrete brick followed by different factories were studied.
 Tests were carried out to evaluate the mechanical and physical properties of the products of the different factories. An experimental investigation was conducted to determine the effect of some factors such as the concrete mix proportions, addition of admixture, curing conditions and age on the strength and durability of concrete bricks. Resistance to sulphate attack of bricks made with additives and without additives was also investigated.
