Abstract

The objective of this work is to investigate the 2-D heat conduction in a convectively cooled rectangular fin whose base is subjected to constant heat flux with different fin tip conditions. For this purpose an analytical steady-state solution is obtained based on the traditional approach [separation of variables), Solution of the transient case of this problem isobtained by applying a new developed dimensionless finite difference technique.
