Abstract

The research aims to describe and analyze the environmental impact Assessment of urban areas, and to identify deficiencies that emerges from the environmental impact Assessment process, and access to the expected solutions of Environmental Impact Assessment System in the urban areas development.
To achieve the aim of research and through the analytical method, the search begins by giving a theoretical background for environmental impact Assessment and the urban areas development.
Then identify the gaps of environmental impact Assessment process in the urban area development and expected solutions from this process.
Eventually, the paper provides a number of findings and recommendations for the urban area development through the process of environmental impact Assessment.
The most important recommendations are to establish a law governing national environmental policy in urban areas to put regulation implementing for the projects classification in urban areas
