The choice of a multiple method in the present investigation was made on the grounds that this would allow cross-validation and complementary support of the research techniques employed. The advantage of using different techniques, as Marshall and Rossman (1995:133) argued, is that "limitations in one method can be compensated for by the strengths of a complementary one".
