Abstract

Surface printing on flexible packaging materials using flexographic printing is a challenge in the field of packaging, as this technology offers effective and special advantages from an economic point of view. The packages are exposed to many external factors that may adversely affect the quality of printed inks (design and information elements) and from Here the idea of research came in an attempt to evaluate the results of exposure of the printed film to the influences surrounding the product from light / sun / friction etc. and other factors surrounding the product, as laboratory tests were conducted on the designs and informational elements printed for a hypothetical design of a packaging product by printing flexography with both types of inks. There are UV-treated inks and solvent-based inks, and these tests are the aging test and the Friction test, as the test results showed the effectiveness of UV-treated inks over Solvent inks, whether in the results of aging or Friction results, where the aging results showed a slight variation in the change. The color change of covered and uncovered UV samples with a rate of color change. While the results of friction showed that the UV printed samples, both covered and uncovered, had a slight effect of on color change, while the Solvent printed samples were affected by high friction. From the above,
