Abstract

This paper presents an analytical model for the hybrid multilayer organic light emitting device based on quantum dots as luminance centers (QD-OLED). The device consists of a glass substrate, an anode, a hole transporting layer (HTL), a quantum dot mono-emissive layer (EML), an electron transporting layer (ETL), and a cathode. The model discusses the different processes that happened in the device: (1) The electronic charge transport process. (2) The exciton formation process and energy transfer phenomenon. (3) The out-coupling optical process via the extraction efficiency. The presented model results give guide for the optimal device structures and geometry.
