In this research paper, the image of women are analyzed in the works of novelist Zhang Xianliang and the commonalities between the female characters in his novels are also clarified. Novelist Zhang Xianliang has diversely portrayed women in his novels, and there were common features between the female characters in most of his works, the most important of which are are motherhood, tenderness and compassion of the wife, toughness and rebellion, etc. These complex features or characteristics are all a reflection of the social culture content of the Chinese society. The writer also relied on the collision between reason and emotion in the personality of women to explain the philosophy of human nature in women.
