This paper takes the instrument argument as an example, attempts to reveal the language type features in the interaction process of semantic structure and syntactic arrangement, through systematic analysis of the similarities and differences of the syntactic arrangement for specific semantic role between Chinese and Arabic, which differ greatly in language type features. The instrument argument is a common semantic role in the semantic structure of various languages of the world. Based on the argument structure theory, this paper systematically describes the syntactic arrangement and the syntactic representation of the instrument argument in Chinese and Arabic. The essay first describes the syntactic distribution of Chinese and Arabic instrument argument, and finds that The Chinese instrument argument can be located in three syntactic positions: adverb, subject and object; while the Arabic instrument argument is usually located in adverb position, occasionally located in the subject position, and never located in the object positions. On this basis, further analysis shows that even if the Chinese and Arabic instrument argument acts as the same syntactic component, there are still many differences in its syntactic representations. This commonality and personality are due to the differences of language types and internal constraints in syntactic systems.
